The East Granby Chamber of Commerce is offering a scholarship to graduating high school seniors.

Eligibility for Scholarship

Students must be an East Granby resident, OR an East Granby High School Student, OR the son/daughter of a East Granby Chamber member. Students must be applying to a 2 to 4 year college or technical school and majoring in business or related program of study. The scholarship will be a one time award once proof of accepted enrollment has been received by the East Granby Chamber of Commerce. Applicants will be judged on their participation in school and community activities, scholastic standing, employment history, and areas of demonstrated leadership. Extra consideration will be given to applicants whose family is a member of the East Granby Chamber of Commerce. Please read all instructions carefully. The East Granby Chamber of Commerce presented three scholarships and honored the top ten seniors at the East Granby High School Senior Banquet on June 11th. Sponsored by the Senior Class in cooperation with the Chamber, the well-attended event included scholarships from more than twenty organizations, other awards, and various remembrances and tributes.

This year's winners of the Chamber scholarships are Kristina Bakes, Erik Storer and Indrek Walker. The Top Ten Seniors, who received personalized pens, are: Lisa Celmer; Megan Dempsey; Michelle Han; Katrina Heilman; Jennalee Kulig; Tyler Lindberg; Alexis Marek; Kenneth Sayles; Katelyn Sayles; Kirstin Watterlond.

In addition to the other awards, the East Granby Republican Town Committee presented each graduating senior with a hardcover copy of the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and Thomas Paine's Common Sense.

The event was held at the Hartford/Springfield Auto Auction facility in East Granby, with decorative trees and shrubs provided by Imperial Nurseries. Kane's Kitchen catered the event.
