Here is information about how to access CT Job Central, which now serves as Connecticut’s job bank.
Information about CT Job Central for Job Seekers:
All the jobs that we handle at CT Works, Connecticut’s employment system, must be posted to CT Job Central, and it is supposed to list all the job openings in Connecticut , so it is a good resource for job seekers. Employers post the jobs directly, and they can also search for resumes on the site so posting one’s resume to the site is wise.
To use the new job bank site, go to the site at http://www.jobcentral.org/ct/ and click on “Create Job Seeker Account.” It will prompt the individual to create a username and password. You can search for jobs by using the “keyword” feature. Use a key word for a desired job title, perhaps, and in the location box, type in CT or maybe specify a town, as well.
Information about CT Job Central for Businesses and Employers:
The Business Services representatives at CT Works, Connecticut’s employment system, are able to get the word out far and wide about your job openings using our extensive email distribution network. In order to do this, I would need you to obtain and send me your job description and a CT Job ID number from Connecticut’s job bank, CT Job Central, where all the jobs that we handle must be posted. You can post the position directly – which only takes a couple of minutes and which actually gives you full control over the content and timing of the posting.
To use the job bank site, (1) go to the site at http://www.jobcentral.org/ct/ and register as an employer using your FEIN (Federal Employment Insurance Number). This number verifies that you are an employer in the state of CT. They will email you a password within minutes.
Then you can (2) post the job from your job description using cut and paste. They will assign a Job ID number to the position, and this will be done immediately; just follow the prompts. Then send me the number for the job so I can put it on the flyer that I will create for your position. I will send the flyer out to our distribution network of 596 colleges, schools, contacts and organizations that work with job seekers in order to get lots of coverage and broad awareness about your opening. It will also be posted on the job boards at CT Works offices and other agencies who work with job seekers.
